I've been on the atkins diet for 4 months now and recently have been getting these sharp cramp like pains all over my midsection. It feels like a side ache or catch you get when you're running but all over. Once it was so bad I couldn't breathe. Could this have something to do with me not eating sugar? Is my body rejecting this diet? I've lost 23lbs and I feel less tired and healthier except for these pains, well and my stool is harder. I've been taking stool softeners but does little good. I've also have had hemorrhoid problems.This pain goes all the way up the sides of my rib cage so I don't think it's the stool causing it.

You must have had a social worker assigned to your case – or someone who made the decision to give full custody to your dad. Go back to them and tell them it isn't working. Not sure where you live, but at 16 (in some places) you can petition the court to be declared an adult and live with whomever you please. Or, if that doesn't work, you can ask for a foster home until your bio parents can get their acts together.
