Asked: Gastro problems for 6 months, tests coming up with nothing PLEASE HELP!!?
I have been suffering for almost 6 months with bad stomach problems after getting norovirus then being admitted into hospital as an emergency and was treated for gastroentritis.
I am now under my 3rd gastroentroligist consultant but have to wait 4 weeks to hear back on my results from blood tests and stool samples. So far I have had every test under the sun and its come back with absoloutely nothing so its been drawing a blank according to my blood work and stool samples theres nothing wrong with me which my gastro consultant can now see and my GP aswell.
I have been suffering with nausea (severe), constipation, bloating, weight loss and as from yesterday (1st april 2013) I have been having pains in my left side on my ribs which feels like an awful stabbing and achy pain. I also get full very quickly I am already a small eater and am now eating less resulting in me loosing 1-2 stone in total. I do have fibre in my diet as I eat alot of vegetables, fresh fruit and wholemeal bread (no white bread), I don't eat takeaways anymore i.e chinese, mcdonalds but instead I cook healthy meals. I am still VERY constipated and bloated and when i went to see my new gastro consultant he said think of the M25 motorway at 9am thats what my insides currently look like so hes given me fibregel and something else to make me go everyday I didn't go yesterday at all until 1am this morning an hour ago.
This is getting AWFUL now and I am so miserable from it all its really taking a toll on my life so anybody PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help if anyone knows what it could be would be greatly appreciated and I now only hope that my blood test results come up with something so it can be done and over with
Asked: Will I be forced to the hospital?
Last time I went to my GP for an infection he gave me cream and asked if there was anything else I wanted to talk about and I said no and he said I'm healthy. I had a BMI of 17 then and that really triggered me (him saying I'm healthy) and I'm going back again except my BMI is 16 now. I want to talk to him about depression but I also want to tell him about my ED behavior. Will I be forced to go to the hospital if I tell someone? I'm 15. I just want to tell someone and get it off my chest. It's so hard to keep it all bottled up. However, I just can't leave everything behind to spend half a year in the hospital.
Asked: Are there any real prescription ‘sleeping tablets’?
I have had trouble sleeping since November 1999 or 2000. I can always count the days in a year when I had slept well. This year none, last year three. I have always been healthy and exercise daily, more so now than ever. I used to do labor work and would often say that after this hard work day I can finally get some sleep. But those nights were usually the worst.
I never sleep for seven hours. I have dark circles round my eyes and on every photo taken from my youth. I often have deep, slurred speech and find it hard to concentrate on many things. Reading had become a problem in September 2004, when I began to struggle to finish a sentence in my head. I had seen a specialist about this who said I may have ADHD. But I didn't, It was due to my lack of sleep. I have one or two other 'conditions' which I trust are affected by little sleep.
Since 2004 I have seen two or three doctors about my lack of sleep. I was strongly asked about my current work and stress issues. I told them that I do not feel stressed and work has nothing to do with this, because I have had trouble sleeping since I was thirteen years old. I was given a blood test and nothing more happened.
I believe now, that I was somewhat ignored by these doctors because I was too young to have any sleep problems. So I think they believed.
I have recently been told that I should revisit a GP about my sleep trouble now that I am twenty six years old. I was told they may prescribe something which will help me sleep.
Could this be true? Is there a sleeping tablet which a GP could prescribe me?
I have tried many natural sleeping aids over the years, purchased from a chemist. But did nothing to help me.
I am sure I become anxious at times, but not every night. Regardless I still cant sleep well and always awaken fatigued.
Will I be prescribed something to make me sleep for at least ten hours a night?
Asked: why am i always cold & always getting colds & can’t lose weight?
There's a few things wrong with me that i'd like to get to the bottom of. I registered with a new GP recently so had to have blood tests done. Everything came back fine. But something must be up!
Firstly, I'm always freezing cold. My hands & feet are like ice, and I can't seem to get generally warm as easily as my boyfriend can.
Secondly, I'm always getting colds/flu. I spend about half the year taking decongestants & sniveling/coughing to some extent. When i get one, it takes ages to go as well.
Thirdly, I eat a calorie controlled diet and do a lot of exercise on a near-daily basis, but can only seem to lose about 200gr of weight a week. It's a lot of effort for very little result. But if i have a week of eating my main meal in the evening, or snacking after i get home from work, I'll have put on about 2kg!
I have a healthy but vegetarian diet, eat normally on weekends but eat about 1000-1200 calories on weekdays. I take multi vitamins, cod liver oil & echinacea. My current BMI is 26. I just want to be able to lose weight normally, and stop getting ill all the time. Especially as I want to get in good health to start trying for a baby in 5 months. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Asked: Working out for 11 months and no weight loss!!?
This is a long story but I will shorten it to the most I can. I had a baby a year ago and lost about 20 lbs since the birth, that was before starting to work out. I started working out about 2 hours a day and eating healthy, a lot of veggies and lean protein. No weight loss. I then started logging on My FitnessPal and eating 1200 calories while working out 2 hours at a time 4-5 times per week. I then tried atkins I am on my 3rd week, no loss, still working out. I bought a calorie/heart rate monitor and wore it yesterday for the first time and discovered I was burning a whole lot more calories than I had thought. I burned over 1500 calories in 2 hours of working out.
I do cardio, thread mil, dancing (zumba), and strength with a nice amount of weight. I am 5'5 219lbs. I eat 1200 calories sometimes a little over. My clothes have been fitting a little better but not what I expect to see in close to a year of working out( no sizes down). I know weight loss takes time but is anyone else going through this!? I am starting to think I will forever be a lard and is so depressing ((
Asked: How to fix exhaustion from Atenolol?
I am a 24-year-old female with essential hypertension – I never experienced rapid heartrate (that I could feel) but my pulse was always, always, always 117+. Obviously my BP was quite high too. I am otherwise healthy, eat right and work out 5x a week.
I was started on Atenolol 25mg four weeks ago. For the past week or so I have been EXHAUSTED. It's hard to get out of bed (I get at least 7 hours of sleep a night) and I'm dragging myself through the day. I take my dose in the morning – is this the problem? Is it safe to start switching to taking it in the evening? I'm too busy to be this tired! Help!

Asked: I want to loose weight.. Advice?
I am pretty healthy, eatfood, minimal fat, fruit and drink water… Don't drink alcohol or eat chocolate..I am about a size 18 and i'm sick of the stigma that comes with it. I know i am healthy but despite having a stressfull job, burning loads of calories at work and walking the dog a lot i just can't shift any weight.. I never put it on either.. But i have stayed the same for years.. I don't eat big portions and eat very little during the day..
I just don't know what to do now? I ahve tried Acai berries, Colon cleansing, Adios, the tabs from the doctor which burn fat and i am just stuck at this same size. I like me but no one else does so it's time to change!
