possible insomnia, but not mentally ill?

LMozart Asked: possible insomnia, but not mentally ill?

So, I've had quite a bit of trouble sleeping as of late. In addition, when I do manage to get some shut eye, I wake up not long later and can't get back to sleep from there. This has been going on for about 2 and a half weeks now, without any inconsistency. All I can think is that it might be insomnia, but good ol' wikipedia gave me a list of possible causes of insomnia, and, well, I'm honestly quite a healthy person, and none of the causes on that list seem to effect me.

So, I'm just wondering if insomnia arise for no particular reason whatsoever? Or is it, in fact, not insomnia at all? Are there other sleep-depriving bastardy illnesses that I'm not familiar with? Cheers in advance

LoveLeadtress Asked: Turn my inactive overweight family fit and active again? ANSWER FAST!!!!!?

It was always called to my attention that my family need to lose weight and eat healthier things. Now is the time to really focus my energy on it and get committed to doing that but let me tell you, they can be a bit stubborn with their eating habits. My question is, do you know any exercise programs or websites with printable workouts. I'm already looking some up but it would be really helpful.

Hey everyone, I have an high blood pressure and an abnormally high pulse. I'm 16 years old, play lacrosse (3+ hours of practice a day,) I bike ride (probably about 10 miles a week,) and eat super healthy. I'm skinny, but not like horribly.

I don't know why I have high blood pressure/high pulse. I'm not overly stressed or anything. Any tips on how to balance it naturally? If it doesn't go down within 4 weeks my doctor is going to put me on medication icon sad How to lower blood pressure?

How to deal with hecklers while running?

Vulcan Windsurfer Asked: How to deal with hecklers while running?

I'm a marathoner – completed 2, now training for my 3rd. So I run a lot in the neighborhoods around my home. Every so often (more so in the summer) I get heckled by stationary folks, or people driving by in their vehicle. Sometimes it's so pathetic, it's very easy to shrug off – like a middle-aged woman standing in her driveway drunk and smoking, lamely mocking me as I run by.

Other times it's a little more worrisome. Like, rural folks driving by in a truck, shouting out 'fag' and stuff like that. I'm not gay, not that it matters, but I'm just illustrating how these people like to insult others. I was once followed for a block or so by guys like this. Or, I've run by parties in the evening on the weekend, where drunk kids in their 20's (I'm 33, just as a reference) get in a tizzy at the weird guy running by, some of them daring each other to 'chase the f***er down' and stuff like that.

The obvious irony is these people are engaging in nothing at all constructive themselves; what's worse, they're choosing to use their energy to mock someone who's clearly doing something admirable and healthy. If it matters, I'm not overweight, I don't wear funny-looking clothes, I look like a typical 'runner guy.' I'm typically treated well and respectfully in just about every other situation in my life, so I don't tend to attract this stuff otherwise. While I don't usually think in these terms, to be blunt, I'm pretty sure I'm better than these people, so I'm not sure why I worry about it. But it still tends to get under my skin and linger a bit in my head.

Any tips on both what to do (if anything) when this happens, and how to deal with it psychologically?

Bible and homosexuality?

bcwhite88 Asked: Bible and homosexuality?

Okay, so I always hear that the dietary and ceremonial laws were largely instituted by Moses because it was for their own good. Eating pork and shellfish wasn't morally bad, but it was just that in the desert environment, it was to keep them healthy. Now that we have refrigeration and proper sanitation, we don't need these laws any longer. They have served their purpose.

I fail to see why the prohibitions against homosexuality weren't the same thing? After all, the Israelites were a fledgling tribe that needed as many new kids as possible to increase their numbers. Admittedly, gay love doesn't create children. So Moses prohibited it at the time so the tribe could grow into a powerful nation.

Today, we're clearly not in need of exponential population growth, so those prohibitions are just as unnecessary as the dietary laws. Am I missing something here?

And please don't bring any of Paul's writings into this. If Paul told Saint Peter at Antioch that Peter, a disciple that actually knew the Lord, was wrong of an interpretation of scripture, I fail to see how Paul couldn't have easily misinterpreted scripture himself.
