What could happen if I applied Podofilox to healthy skin?

Paul Asked: What could happen if I applied Podofilox to healthy skin?

When I was prescribed Podofilox my doctor didn't instruct me on the proper use and I was unaware of the potential side effects. I applied the medication to the wart and the surrounding skin. The wart is actually two little warts very close together about the size of a pencil eraser on the side of my penis about two centimeters below the head with a few tiny bumps in the area. I applied an area about the size of a dime twice daily for three days. I am now in my third day of no treatment out of four before I am suppose to start treatment again. The wart(s) have shrunken but the skin surrounding them has been destroyed. It is very dry and sensitive. The surrounding skin has begun to peel and I am afraid. Will my skin completely heal? Will there be scaring? Should I put Vaseline on the affected skin?
